Green Lantern Movie: 5 Things It Got Right

3. The Green Lantern Homeworld

oa For everything we as fans could imagine that the Green Lantern home planet would like on screen, nothing could really prepare us for how OA was actually represented in the film. Vast and expansive, it was everything a sci-fi homeworld should be: rich with color, densely populated, and most importantly, full of Green Lanterns and Corps members. Also of great awesomeness were the towers that represented the seats of The Guardians. Perched high above the Corps they created, the Guardians would take their seats to discuss and dispute the fates to be determined by their Corps involvement in matters throughout their protective territory. It was a nice twist on an old Green Lantern staple, and a fitting representation of how the Guardians actually ruled: looking down upon everyone but themselves, making decisions that affected everyone else in a universe they felt they needed to rule and protect.
