Guardians Of The Galaxy: 10 Glaring Flaws Everybody Just Ignored
4. The Movie Is So Winking That It Gets Annoying
You know the kind: the movie that winks at you constantly throughout, breaking down the fourth wall, letting you know that it knows that you know that the people who made the film were totally in on the joke, okay? Meta to the max, guys! This approach to the blockbuster works in moderation, of course, but when you end up with a movie entirely built around total self-awareness, it can get rather annoying really, really quickly. Guardians of the Galaxy manages to avoid being "totally annoying" in this regard, and comes out - due to the insanely likeable characters - somewhere between "a bit annoying" and "annoying at times." We get it, guys - you want us to know that sentences like "Ronan is destroying Xanderian outposts throughout the galaxy!" are innately stupid. But, really, we don't need to know it every single time a dumb line is uttered.
