Guardians Of The Galaxy: 10 Potential Roles For Nathan Fillion
8. J'Son of Spartax
Something that hasn't really been touched on in the trailer or clips we've seen from Guardians of the Galaxy is the heritage of Peter Quill, played by Chris Pratt. Quill is actually an alien-human hybrid, and is in fact the son of J'son of Spartax, Emperor of the Spartoi Empire. The Spartoi were a sister race of the Shi'ar, who are more commonly seen in the X-Men titles. J'son and Peter Quill don't exactly have a stable father and son relationship, usually operating against each other. Fillion could almost be a dead-ringer for J'son, and potentially play a large part in the future of Marvel's cosmic universe. We've seen J'son feature heavily in a number of intergalactic wars that involve a number of Marvel alien races, like the Shi'ar, the Kree, the Badoon, and more. His presence in an after-credit scene could possibly reference a meeting between Quill and J'son that could set up a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy, or possibly a larger scale film that could see storylines like War of Kings or a possible Kree/Skrull War adaptation.
