8. Because They'll Look Ridiculous If It Fails
Marvel StudiosMarvel really are running the risk of looking very stupid if this movie fails, because it will prompt questions like "why choose to produce such an obscure movie when so many other properties are available to them?" With flagship Marvel characters like Black Panther, Namor, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Ms. Marvel and even existing Marvel Cinematic Universe characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow not yet getting a movie, people are already wondering why Marvel have chosen to put the Guardians of the Galaxy in to live action. If the movie ends up failing, that question will become even more pertinent and the people behind it will really feel ridiculous.
