11. Will We See Living Celestials?
Marvel StudiosThe recent trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy show a very curious location that those familiar with the comic books will surely recognise. "Knowhere" is an inter-dimensional crossroads and scientific observatory that currently serves as the base of operations for the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comic books. The most spectacular aspect of Knowhere is that it is actually the severed head of a Celestial - a giant god-like race of beings who have existed since around the birth of the universe. They are ludicrously powerful, so exactly what kind of force would have been required to decapitate it is almost incomprehensible. This makes us wonder if we'll see a living Celestial in the movie - now that we basically have confirmation that they exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's somewhat hard to imagine such gigantic cosmic beings existing in a universe that also includes the likes of Darcy Lewis and Happy Hogan, but the potential for future storylines involving the Celestials is pretty awesome. Imagine, for example, Tony Stark being confronted by them!
