Guardians Of The Galaxy: 15 Obscure Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

6. Footloose / Kevin Bacon

This is certainly one of the more blatant references in Guardians of the Galaxy - but it's one that you may have failed to pick up on if you're too young to remember it or had your head buried in the sand in the 1980s. Peter Quill made reference to the 1984 film "Footloose" and its star Kevin Bacon (who has, of course, appeared as a Marvel character himself, when he portrayed Sebastian Shaw in Fox's X-Men: First Class). Quill is trying to tell Gamora that dancing is great, but she wants nothing to do with it, and he uses the movie as a tool to get her interested, saying: "Really? Well, on my planet, we have a legend about people like you. It's called Footloose. And in it, a great hero, named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that, dancing, well, is the greatest thing there is." It worked! She did actually end up dancing with him. Nice work, Kevin Bacon.
