Guardians Of The Galaxy: 6 Ways It Could Link In With Other Movies

4. The Infinity Gauntlet

The trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy shows Star-Lord in a large temple-like building, attempting to steal an orb. Presumably, this orb possesses some serious power - and it's probably an Infinity Stone (as they're known in the Marvel cinematic universe, as opposed to "Infinity Gems" in the comics). Having seen the Collector - Taneleer Tivan - at the end of Thor: The Dark World, we have already seen that he is in possession of one of these items. With the character set to star in Guardians of the Galaxy, we already have a link in place and we can only assume that he will also want to get his hands on the orb that Star-Lord was so keen on. Who will ultimately end up with the entire collection of Infinity Stones in place and ready to wield in the Infinity Gauntlet remains to be seen (although we all have a pretty clear idea and we'll get to that later in this list), but this movie seems to be serving as a means of introducing another of them, following the Tesseract and Aether's appearances in previous movies.
