5. Drax The Destroyer

Drax the Destroyer will be portrayed by WWE superstar Dave Batista and is likely to be the least popular member of the titular team amongst the viewing public. Batista doesn't seem to be well liked, as a general rule - which is a shame in itself because he actually comes across as a really nice guy - which puts the character he is portraying at an early disadvantage, thanks to preconceptions about the man behind it. There's also the fact that Batista wasn't actually Marvel's first choice, which would suggest that even the people behind the movie don't think he's absolutely perfect for the role he's playing (that said, he got the part when all's said and done) and the fact that wrestlers generally don't do too well on the acting front. Most important of all, however, is that the character just seems downright unlikeable. During the trailer, when he's in the line-up having been caught and arrested by the Nova Corps, he looks angry and seems to be taking deep breaths in a constant attempt to suppress a violent outburst. He is said to have been on a violent, murderous rampage across the galaxy, which doesn't exactly put him in a good light. That said, his reasons are that his wife and family were murdered, so there may well be some empathy and sympathy for the character that will ensure he isn't universally disliked - it's just that he won't be as popular as the rest of his team.
