Guardians of the Galaxy: 10 Actors It Needs

1. Mantis - Jamie Chung

Mantis is one of the characters with the most cross-over potential, given that she was an Avenger before she became one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Despite her relatively slender frame, she's one of the most potent characters in the franchise, using her fighting instinct to sense weak points in enemies, allowing her to take down even superheroes as strong as Thor. She's also a master of meditation, able to control various aspects of her body that even her superhuman cohorts cannot, making her a force to be reckoned with. Now a vital member of the Guardians, and sharing a unique relationship with Star-Lord, she is a very special piece of the puzzle, and hopefully will turn up in James Gunn's cinematic adaptation. Casting Mantis will prove a bit of a challenge, given that those Asian women who spring to mind first - Lucy Liu for one - are probably too old for the role, while Zhang Ziyi simply seems too delicate. Jamie Chung, while not having starred in too many great films yet, has at least proven in Sucker Punch that she can do the physical stuff, and she totally looks the part. This could be her breakout role if handled correctly. Do you agree with our casting choices? Let us know in the comments below.
