Guardians Of The Galaxy 2: 12 New Details James Gunn Just Revealed

How do you go about besting one of the greatest movies in the entire MCU with a sequel? Well, as Dave Bautista said not so long ago, you don't - not if you're James Gunn. Instead you shoot for a different result:

"When I asked him before, coming off the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, I knew the pressure was on him to make it better, and I asked him, 'How are you going to top this? How are you going to make it better?' He said, 'No, I’m going to make it different.'"

Gunn himself has now given a firm indication of what that difference means on Twitter:

Does that mean more scientific fidelity? More for the science bros out there? Given the father conflict and the Old West parallels of the original, it's strange to see the space opera elements will be lessened (but then maybe that's just reading too much into it).

Gunn also admitted that Farscape was a big influence on the film, which sounds incredibly hard to believe:
