Guardians Of The Galaxy 2: 12 New Details James Gunn Just Revealed

5. He Had To Fight For A Character

It seems there's more secret characters in Vol 2 than just Peter Quill's father. There are already question marks hanging over the involvement of Elizabeth Debicki and Chris Sullivan, since they don't have character names yet, and Gunn dropped a major hint at a secret and presumably left-field character also coming in.

When asked which character he'd had to fight strongest to get in, Gunn hinted at something special:

You really have to wonder what circumstances would see Marvel resist Gunn at this stage, so it's got to be big.

By the process of elimination, it can't be Howard The Duck, because he didn't have to fight for him, and it's unlikely to be Nova, because he didn't want him in the first place. It's not going to be a main cast member, or an announced character (because that renders the secrecy redundant), and it's not going to be whoever Peter Quill's father is.

It's also unlikely to be an Avenger, or a human, because Gunn has previously ruled either out from being involved. And he's been very vocal about not having Hulk in a Guardians film he presides over.

Could we be looking at a cameo of similar silliness to Howard The Duck? Squirrel Girl maybe? She obviously came up. Time will obviously tell, but it's very intriguing.
