Guardians Of The Galaxy 2: 8 Characters Who Could Join The Team

3. Starhawk

It took the entire first film for the other characters to remember Peter Quill€™s not-that-weird codename, Star-Lord. He€™d be majorly pissed off, then, if a hero called Starhawk showed up shortly afterwards. Can€™t you just imagine James Gunn and Chris Pratt wrangling some big laughs from that? From the same alternate Earth as Vance Astro and Yondu, Starhawk is a powerful superhero fated to re-inhabit his infant body repeatedly, essentially living the same life over and over again. He retained his memories each time, and would use this to change and shape certain events. Alongside this unique form of immortality, his powers include invulnerability, fight and energy manipulation. Notably, he manipulated events to bring the original Guardians Of The Galaxy together (for example, he meddled with teleport devices so the super strong Charlie-27 would meet the Plutonian superhero Martinex). He fought side by side with the team he had pulled together on many occasions. A female version of the character was introduced in 2008, in the main continuity. As he did with Yondu (taking the name and few stylistic traits from the comic book version but changing quite a lot else), James Gunn could take the name Starhawk and do what he wants with it. The gag of Star-Lord being peeved at Starhawk€™s cooler nickname is surely to good to pass up.
