Guardians Of The Galaxy 3: 10 Things We Want To See
4. Drax And Mantis, A Blooming Friendship
When Mantis was introduced in Vol. 2, she became an instant hit. Her naïve innocence and loveable personality quickly tugged at your heartstrings, and she only got better after she began a blossoming friendship with Drax.
This pairing was instant gold as Drax's mean-spirited sense of humour and lack of subtlety was the perfect antithesis to Mantis' gullible and easily confused mind. So, seeing as they managed to strike gold here, it only makes sense to keep mining.
Guardians Vol. 3 needs to keep this wholesome dynamic going, as paired characters have worked well for the series thus far. Groot and Rocket's partnership is solid, then there's Gamora and Peter, and now there can be Drax and Mantis. This brings balance to the whole group and allows for plenty of development.
Their relationship was a little tepid at first, and Drax will probably still look at her as a weird creature, so seeing as she becomes more and more significant to him would be a powerful arc for the both of them. There could even be some excellent emotional connection between the two that clarifies their friendship is worth more than just comic relief.
