Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special: 10 Songs It Must Include

8. Step Into Christmas - Elton John

It's time to add yet another British act to the mixtape, this time with worldwide superstar, Elton John. The 1973 single "Step into Christmas" was a stand-alone single released with the song "Ho, Ho, Ho (Who'd Be a Turkey at Christmas)" as the B-side. The song peaked at Number 24 in the UK singles charts upon its original release, but reached a new peak in 2019 at the Number 8 spot.

The song is quite a reflective piece of music with the opening lyrics being "Welcome to my Christmas song. I'd like to thank you for the year". It seems to me that this seventies tune would be a perfect and uplifting way to close out the festive special and leave viewers feeling upbeat and optimistic for the future and the next instalment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

James Gunn has not featured any songs by Elton John in any of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies up to this point, so this would be a great inclusion.
