Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special: 10 Songs It Must Include

7. Fairytale Of New York - The Pogues

Written by Jem Finer and Shane MacGowan, "Fairytale of New York" featured the joint vocals of the Pogues and singer-songwriter Kirsty MacColl. The song borrows heavily in style from Irish folk ballads with it being the perfect Christmas drinking song. Originally released as a single in 1987, the song later featured on the 1988 album, If I Should Fall from Grace with God.

This song has two good reasons to be included in the first festive Marvel production (outside of Iron Man 3): the first one being it's my all-time favourite Christmas song and I just wanted to add it to this list for purely selfish reasons; the second reason is how brilliant it would be to see the Guardians of the Galaxy team absolutely smashed singing along to this classic duet song.

That said, these films tend to be family-friendly and it's more than likely that in this Holiday Special they might not want to show the franchise heroes heavily intoxicated on screen...
