How Peter Quill not only kept a Sony Walkman working for the better part of three decades, but also survived on just a handful of sings for just as long without getting bored is anyone's guess. However, it is as a result of this lifestyle that we get one of the most subtly funny scenes in the movie, which in turn, acts as a remedy to its fairly sad conclusion.

Considering that his knowledge of portable music players apparently ends in the early 1980s, it shouldn't really come as a surprise that Peter was absolutely blown away when he discovered the existence of a digital device that can hold up to three-hundred songs. What makes it funny, however, is that that device is a Zune, of all things.

Following Yondu's funeral, Kraglin gives Quill the device, telling him that they had picked it up at a trading outpost and that it's what "everyone" on Earth is using these days. Considering that most people on Earth in 2017 have likely already forgotten that Zune's even existed, this is a great use of dramatic irony.

And it's made that much funnier when you factor in that in this film, Peter also discovered he had god-like powers, yet a Zune is the thing that truly left him speechless.
