8. Exposition Felt More Natural

One has to wonder exactly how much impact Nicole Perlman's contributions to the original film's script ultimately had, because Gunn's solo effort this time feels a lot less smart when it comes to masking blatant exposition.

In the first film, the fresh chaos of the new team dynamic gave audiences lots to digest, but it felt relatively organic, yet here, characters literally stop in their tracks on numerous occasions to explain their feelings and over-announce details for the audience's benefit.

Perhaps the first film has something of an unfair advantage, because the sheer awe-inspiring presence of Thanos made a lot of the tell-us-a-story elements a little easier to digest.

Here, it felt like Gunn took some shortcuts and didn't dole out the info in a way that seemed natural to the characters.
