17. Killing The Ravagers

Considering Vol 2 is a PG-13 (and a 12A in Britain), the sequence that shows Taserface and his separatist Ravagers killing off all of Yondu's loyalist comrades is pretty terrifyingly adult.

Not only do we get to see the death of Tommy Flanagan's Tullk in harrowing close-up as his skin freezes and life leaves his eyes, but we then get the stuff-of-nightmares shot of the rest of his crew-mates floating outside dead as their murderers laugh gleefully.

Watching that alongside Groot's dancing opening sequence might as well suggest you're watching two separate films.
