16. Taserface Thinks Groot Is Adorable

Sticking to the logic of a character once you've written that character is a fairly important part of writing characters (and good films). When Taserface is introduced as a ruthless monster who kills off all of his opponents and locks up Yondu and Rocket, while allowing Groot to be tormented, this all works for his overall image.

But then, out of nowhere, the script explains him not killing - or even locking up - Baby Groot by saying he's way too adorable to die. For the sake of a throw-away gag, it comes at a terrible cost to his mythology. Sure, he's supposed to be shown to be an idiot, but that whole idea of him keeping him alive to preserve his cuteness is too much.
