2. Groot Grows Up

The Scene: The penultimate scene features Vin Diesel's latest wooden character, Groot, with the talking tree displaying a handful of typical teenage tendencies.

That's right! Baby Groot is Baby Groot no more. He's now the alien equivalent of those twelve year-old rage-quitters you run into on Call Of Duty every single year, complete with video-game obsession, moody behaviour and messy bedroom.

The scene finds Teenage Groot playing some sort of handheld games console as Star-Lord enters his room and gives the little blighter a telling off, asking him to clear up the many vines the tree has strewn around the room.

Groot responds with a sarcasm-tinged, grumpy "I am Groot" before the scene ends.

What You Should Take Away From It: Sadly, Groot will not be Baby Groot in Guardians 3 or Avengers: Infinity War.

Considering his speedy rate of growth - he went from a potted plant to a walking, fighting Baby Groot in two short months, which is the time gap between the end of Guardians 1 and the start of Guardians 2 - he should have returned to full size the next time we meet him.

This is a given for Avengers: Infinity War, which takes place roughly four years after the end of Vol. 2.

But will Guardians 3 take place after Infinity War, or before? Every MCU movie usually takes place in the year in which it releases, but both Guardians movies have taken place within a couple of months, despite being released years apart.

Will the third instalment follow a similar pattern?

If yes, then Groot could very well be Teenage Groot in the team's third adventure, which should make for several funny moments and gags.

Regardless of where the film takes place in the timeline, one thing is clear; we won't be seeing Baby Groot in the Avengers or Guardians sequels.
