Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2: Predicting Who Every New Cast Member Will Play

3. Elizabeth Debicki As Phyla-Vell

Gunn had mentioned in the past that he's eager to see some more female characters in the MCU and it looks like he's taken it upon himself to address the shortage. Along with Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki will lend her talents to the Guardians' world. Dedicki is very new to the Hollywood scene, but has quickly been making a name for herself. She first came to notice as Tobey Maguire's love interest in Baz Luhrmann's overblown adaption of The Great Gatsby. Last year was particularly busy for Debicki as she appeared in supporting roles in films such as Macbeth and Everest, as well as a memorable villainous turn in the underrated The Man From U.N.C.L.E. She's the second French actress to join this Marvel production and, at 26 years-old, she's the youngest of the main cast. Her good-looks and statuesque height certainly make her a hard figure to look away from on screen. To add further femininity to the film's team, Debicki seems like a great fit for Guardians member, Phyla-Vell aka Quasar. She is an extremely powerful character with an array of awesome abilities: flight, super strength, and energy blasts. She is also a character that has deep connections to other characters in the MCU including the forth-coming Captain Marvel. However, the most interesting aspect of the Phyla-Vell character is that in the comics she was often depicted as lesbian. If Gunn chooses to go this route, it would be the first gay character in the MCU which would make for a more refreshing direction rather than her serving as a romantic interest for Peter Quill.
