Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Review: 8 Ups & 3 Downs

2. Taserface And Ayesha Aren't Great

Marvel obviously has issues with villains, as the majority of the MCU can basically attest, but it's still a shame when even the best movies have uninspiring villains.

Obviously, the revelation that the real villain of the piece is Ego (which you could probably see coming a mile off) means that neither of those set up by the marketing material really matter as much as we could have expected them to. But it's still a shame that both Ayesha and Taserface could almost have been left out of the film without too much of an impact on its overall success.

The idea of genetically pure aliens hating the Guardians not just because Rocket steals from them, but also because they represent inferiority as a concept is a good one, but Ayesha never really follows through on it. And Taserface is a bit of a cliche, who could have really been replaced by any upwardly mobile Ravager.

In short, they're both just a little forgettable.
