Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailers: 7 Reasons To Be Concerned About The Film

3. Drax Could End Up Being Plain Annoying

Drax, as a character, has a rather obtrusive, inconsiderate personality. His lack of intelligence means that he's not the best at reading social situations, and he can sometimes come off as, well, a bit of a d*ck.

And it looks as though this is being pushed to the limit in Vol. 2, with both of Drax's big scenes in both teasers revolving around his rather blunt, rude way of approaching his fellow teammates.

He calls Star-Lord pathetic in one scene and embarrasses him rather heavily in the next, and that's just in the trailers; there's a lot more of this to come in the film and it could easily make Drax seem extremely unlikable.

He was loud and obnoxious in the scene with Mantis and Quill, and though he doesn't mean to offend anyone, it still makes him seem arrogant, and this type of humour can quickly become grating.

It worked in the first movie because he had a relatable, emotional journey to balance against his less refined traits, and Vol. 2 needs to understand that Drax's impolite sense of humour only works if he displays some redeeming qualities to compensate for it.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
