3. James Remar
Arguably best known for his television work given his recurring roles on Sex and the City and then Dexter, James Remar has been working solidly for over 35 years and racked up almost 150 credits on both the big and small screen. With his piercing gaze and a voice that sounds as though he uses gravel for mouthwash, it is no surprise that he is often cast as the villain. The actor's second feature was cult classic The Warriors, and since then Remar has gone on to appear in a staggering amount of well-known movies, often in a small role as either an authority figure or supporting villain. 48 Hrs, Miracle on 34th Street, Judge Dredd, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, What Lies Beneath, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Blade: Trinity, Pineapple Express, RED, X-Men: First Class and Django Unchained are just some of the recognizable properties in which he has appeared. As well as his numerous collaborations with Walter Hill, Remar has also been directed by William Friedkin, Francis Ford Coppola, Nicholas Winding Refn, Robert Zemeckis and Quentin Tarantino. Although most of his output has consisted of genre fare that won't make any 'best of' lists, the actor has forged quite the career in being 'that guy from that movie'.
