2. Laurie Dies...In The Dumbest Way Possible (Halloween: Resurrection)

Jamie Lee Curtis was lured back for a small role in Halloween: Resurrection for what was presumably, hopefully a large dump truck full of cash. After H20 actually gave Laurie a pretty solid ending to her arc, Resurrection trampled all over that by killing her in the opening sequence.

As it turns out, Laurie's been biding her time in an insane asylum ever since she decapitated that EMT, feigning a catatonic state and waiting for Michael to track her down.

When he finally shows up, Laurie reveals she has a trap set for him, and though she very nearly succeeds in killing him, her desire to ensure she's really killing Michael this time allows him to stab her and throw off the asylum roof to her death.

It's an astoundingly lazy, insulting and unimaginative way to off one of the most iconic horror protagonists of all time, but thankfully the new movie scrubs it entirely from the canon. Phew.
