Halloween 2018: Everything We Know So Far

Michael Myers just keeps coming back, and so does his scream queen sister Laurie Strode. Jamie Lee Curtis will return to the role that launched her career, 40 years on, for a final showdown with the masked menace.

The veteran actress has been here before. She revisited the part in 1998's Halloween H20, which picked up two decades on from Myers's original killing spree - and its abysmal sequel Halloween: Resurrection - but it just wouldn't be a 40th anniversary celebration without the original star on board.

Confirming her involvement, Curtis tweeted: "Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween."

H20 rendered every sequel which took place after Halloween II non-canon, doing away with Laurie's daughter and all that nonsense about the Thorn Curse. Resurrection, meanwhile, killed off Curtis's character during an obligatory cameo scene that failed to give her the sendoff she deserved.

The 2018 Halloween presents the opportunity to set that right, mark the series' milestone anniversary in style, and finally deliver a sequel that lives up to the original.
