Halloween: 8 Reasons Why Michael Myers Is The Ultimate Horror Villain
5. His Movement
When he isn’t lurking creepily in the background of a shot stalking his victims before stealthily taking cover behind a handy hedge, Michael’s movement is generally quite slow. Very rarely will you see Michael run or even break into a trot. Rather, he prefers to pursue his prey at a deliberately un-rushed pace.
Practically, it makes sense. The visibility inside that mask can’t be all that great and him falling arse over tit would kind of destroy his mystique. Judging by all the panting he does the mask isn’t all that breathable either – running in it would be difficult and he’s got to save some energy for all that murdering he gets up to.
Jokes aside, there’s likely another reason why Michael adopts such a menacing stroll, and that’s because he’s so confident that he will get you - and kill you - that there’s really no need to rush at all. While his soon-to-be victims are running around like headless chickens, he’s just coolly ambling along behind knowing they’ll soon be in his clutches.
Hell, even when he’s transporting poor dead Annie Brackett’s body in the original Halloween – in full view of a suburban neighbourhood, no less, and one very traumatised Tommy Doyle – Michael doesn’t appear to be in a hurry.
