Halloween: Every Franchise Easter Egg And Reference Explained
3. Evil Doctor - Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers (1995)
The big reveal that seems to be shocking audiences across the globe, and leaving the questioning if it's even necessary, is that Michael's new psychologist Dr. Ranbir Sartain turns out to be a bad guy.
This is a shocking moment in the film and may feel a little off to some viewers but its a move pretty much taken directly from Halloween 6. In that film, it was revealed that Dr. Terence Wynn, a long-time co-worker of Loomis' at Smith's Grove who had actually made a brief appearance in the original film, was in fact evil all along and had been assisting Michael all these years.
Just as Halloween 6 kind of vaguely implies that Wynn might have been evil as far back as 1978 and might be the reason Michael ever escaped in the first place, the new film outright states that Dr. Sartain is the one responsible for setting Michael free. Wynn and Sartain both have similar motives as well, which is that they long to see 'pure evil' up close and personal.
Fortunately, Sartain does not seem to be affiliated with the Cult of Thorn as Wynn was, so that's one reference that audiences are spared.
