Halloween Kills: 10 Biggest WTF Moments

5. The Umbrella Man's Demise

Halloween Kills Michael Myers
Universal Pictures

Much like Marcus and Vanessa, Lance Tovoli (or as he's also known The Umbrella Man) is a character that had a brief appearance in Halloween 2018 but got a much larger role in Halloween Kills.

During the opening to the previous film, we got to see inside the confines of Smith's Grove Psychiatric Hospital, where Michael had been contained for the last forty years. We also got glimpses of some of the other patients inside, including Lance, who was shown clutching at an umbrella that hides him away from the sunshine.

Turns out that Lance was also due to be transported to a different facility on the night that Michael managed to escape, and he's since been roaming the streets of Haddonfield. And despite him not doing anything wrong, the town's angry mob is quick to hunt him down, as they believe him to be Michael.

They eventually corner him in a hallway of Haddonfield Memorial Hospital and faced with the prospect of being savagely beaten to death, Lance throws himself out of a window. It's a fairly tragic scene all around, but one that would have had a much greater impact if the proceeding elements were more cohesive overall.
