8. The Hand (1981)
The oft-times strange movie choices of Michael Caine continue in Oliver Stone's psychological horror film The Hand. Caine plays Jon Lansdale, a comic artist whose drawing hand is severed in an auto accident. In a nice bit of conscience-protecting revenge for Jon, the hand begins to murder those who anger him. How awesome is that? I would sever one of my hands if it would follow a few folks around and give them a good slap once in a while. The only problem? It might just be a delusional Jon performing all the slaughtering.
7. And Now the Screaming Starts (1973)
In 18th century England, young Catherine moves to the country estate of her fiance. There she discovers a portrait of her fiance's grandfather that emanates a sense of evil. Needless to say, one day while she is examining the portrait, a hand reaches out and attacks Catherine. That's when the screaming really gets started. Starring the great Peter Cushing as Dr. Pope, And That's When the Screaming Starts is a pretty decent film to watch during the month of Halloween. It's not a perfect picture, but it's not too bad either.
