Halloween Tribute: 10 Horror Movies With Disembodied Hands

10. Severed Ties (1992)

This one's pretty original for a severed hand movie. A young stud doctor is working on a formula for regrowing organs, a process based on the work of his murdered geneticist father. After developing a working recipe for the regeneration formula, the young doctor discovers his mother and her lover from an evil corporation (what else?) are behind his father's murder. The young doctor takes his formula and flees but not before his arm is torn off in an accident. After being injected with the newly-created regenerative formula, the arm reattaches itself to the doctor, but it has developed a mind of its own and can attach and detach itself at will. Very weird. Check it out.

9. Invasion of the Saucer Men (1957)

Here's another really weird one. A teenage couple in a car run over an alien in the woods. The creature's hand is knocked off in the accident, which is very unfortunate for our couple. The hand grows an eye and some needles reminiscent of Wolverine's claws. The alien paw begins wreaking havoc with the town by puncturing tires and injecting folks with alcohol. Naturally the local police think the kids are pulling a prank when they report the incidents. That leaves it up to the teenagers to outwit the police, bypass the military, and kill the aliens in time to save the Earth. This is one of the sci-fi classics from the black & white era of drive in theaters (how I wish I was alive back then!). In fact, it's going to be the first film I cover in my companion series to Forgotten B&W Horror. Watch for my new series Forgotten B&W Sci-Fi soon.
