3. The Cast

The changes haven't just taken place behind the camera, with Michael K. Williams an unfortunate victim of the reshoots. His character had to be cut from the movie completely, and while it's a shame to lose someone of his talent, there's an able replacement in Paul Bettany.

Beyond that, though, the main cast has remained in place, and it's really great. Donald Glover, a man who oozes both charisma and talent, is the most perfect choice imaginable for taking on the role of Lando Calrissian. Alden Ehrenreich is less certain, but he was excellent in Hail, Caesar!, which is the film we're most able to judge him on right now.

Woody Harrelson is in place as Han's mentor, Beckett, which is another excellent bit of casting. Harrelson's capable of bringing both wry humour and gravitas, and should make for a superb fit into this world. Emilia Clarke is adept at handling big fantasy worlds, and so too is Thandie Newton - both their roles are largely under wraps, but Newton especially is brilliant and a total badass. There's also the chance for Joonas Suotamo to have a meaty role as Chewbacca, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge will (hopefully) be bringing her comic talent to a mo-cap droid.
