Often described as the safest place in the wizarding world, Gringotts Wizarding Bank is where wizards and witches alike safeguard their most prized possessions from prying eyes.

Owned and operated by none other than Goblins, the production team had to decide early on whether these creatures would be better reflected with practical or virtual effects.

In the end the decision was made to approach the situation more practically, which saw the producers hire a bunch of actors to portray the roles of these magical bank employees.

It was then up to the makeup team and costume department to create the necessary prosthetics which ranged from extended fingers and noses to pointed ears, all of which had to be attached to the actors each and every day before filming began.

But it was Warwick Davis who spent more time than anyone else in the makeup chair, not only portraying the roles of Griphook and the bank teller, but that of Professor Flitwick as well.

And speaking of time, it took the production team around eight months to prepare for and shoot the Gringotts heist scene in Deathly Hallows Part 2, showing just how much work was put into the creation of the bank and its vaults.
