Harry Potter: 10 Characters (That Weren't Ron) Hermione Should Have Ended Up With

The romantic drama of Hermione and Ron has been etched into literary and movie history forever. Whether you are for them or against them, the debate never ceases to stop. Some may think it doesn't matter, some may think it is childish and ridiculous. But life is hard and as a result, we need the imaginary love lives of J.K Rowling's creations to distract us from the world ahead.

Hermione and Ron had been headed towards romantic relations since the very beginning. In fact, after the final chapter of the Harry Potter saga, Rowling revealed that pairing up Hermione and Ron had been her intention from the start and something that she had always wanted to happen.

Interestingly, her passion for the couple didn't last long which then led Rowling to claim that maybe they weren't right for each other after all. Fans of the books and movies agreed and a whole host of other suitors for Hermione were drawn up. In fact, many people controversially declared that Hermione should have ended up with Mr. Harry Potter himself.

We might not be able to change what happened but we can always imagine what could have been. Even more so now that Rowling has agreed to let us.

Love it or hate it we all know Hermoine Granger and Harry Potter should have ended up together and even J.K Rowling agrees.

During an interview in 2014, Rowling announced, "I wrote the Hermione/Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment. That's how it was conceived really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron."

To make things even better, Emma Watson (who was in the same interview) also stated, "I think there are fans out there who know that too and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy."

Rowling then went on to say how she believed Harry and Hermione would have made a better couple which is something that many fans agreed with. Firstly, all you need to do is look at how their friendship has grown, look at how they behaved with each other during their time in the tent and of course, that dance.
