Harry Potter: 10 Evil Acts Committed By Gryffindors
7. Ron Weasley – Neglected Harry When He Was Chosen As A Triwizard Champion
Ron may have been an amusing and loyal companion, but in the early stages of The Goblet of Fire, he neglected his best friend when he should have been by his side.
In essence, Ron was jealous of Harry’s popularity and thought he had entered the Triwizard Tournament to gain more glory and attention. Of course, Harry didn’t enter the tournament by his own volition and he hated all the attention. As well as receiving the usual dislike from the Slytherins, the Ravenclaws and the Hufflepuffs also turned on him. And his life at Hogwarts was made still more burdensome by the nonsense written by Rita Skeeter in The Daily Prophet.
Once Harry had faced the Hungarian Horntail, however, he won back the support of his fellow students. Ron soon admitted he was wrong and the pair of them rekindled their friendship. Still, Ron’s reaction to his best friend’s situation was incredibly selfish.
