Though love potions may seem like a bit of a laugh, they’re actually one of the most dangerous potions in the wizarding world.

After the magical population finally realised Harry was telling the truth about Voldemort’s return, he became much more popular around Hogwarts. But with such popularity, there also came some unwanted attention. Romilda Vane was infatuated with Harry, and in an attempt to seduce her crush, she offered him a large selection of chocolate cauldrons spiked with a love potion.

Luckily for Harry, he never touched the cauldrons. Ron, however, was unfortunate enough to eat several, and the consequences were disastrous. As funny as it was to witness his temporary obsession with Romilda, using love potions for your own gain is not an honourable thing to do. Indeed, the Ministry should really impose tighter regulations on such a powerful and immoral potion.
