Harry Potter: 10 Evil Acts Committed By Gryffindors
8. Hermione Granger – Attacked Ron With A Flock Of Canaries
The Half-Blood Prince grappled with adolescent romance more than any other entry in the series. All three of the main trio were part of a love triangle at some point in their sixth year, and this wasn’t always a pleasant experience for them.
Despite his promise to take Hermione to Slughorn’s Christmas party, Ron hooked up with Lavender Brown after Gryffindor’s victory against Slytherin in the Quidditch cup. Understandably, Hermione was hurt by Ron’s behaviour and sought revenge. But far from handling the situation with dignity, she conjured up a flock of canaries and ordered them to attack.
In the movie adaptation, Ron managed to avoid taking any physical damage, but in the book, the birds pecked and clawed at his flesh and left him with several injuries. Given Hermione is usually level-headed, her use of violence was remarkably out of character.
