2. Albus Dumbledore – Plotted To Takeover The Muggles With Grindelwald
Professor Dumbledore was the wisest character Rowling ever created. He was a magical powerhouse and Harry’s most important father-figure. Unfortunately, his legendary reputation was tarnished by his questionable youth.
After graduating from Hogwarts with a series of outstanding N.E.W.T.s, Dumbledore returned to Godric’s Hollow to care for his younger siblings – Aberforth and Ariana. He then became friends with Gellert Grindelwald, who was staying with his great aunt – Bathilda Bagshot.
As well as being fascinated by the quest for the Deathly Hallows, the pair of them envisioned a world in which witches and wizards were able to come out of hiding and rule over the Muggle population. Whilst Dumbledore abandoned these mad ideas and went on to defeat Grindelwald in later life, his temporary support of magical dominance was frighteningly similar to Voldemort’s primary mission throughout the main series.
