Harry Potter: 10 Heroic Acts Committed By Slytherins

1. Regulus Black – Betrayed Voldemort And Stole The Locket

For much of his life, Regulus was a typical member of the Black Family. He was proud of his pure-blood ancestry and was greatly admired by his parents and fellow Slytherins.

After graduating Hogwarts, his beliefs led him to Voldemort and he joined the Death Eaters. Though the details of his change of heart are unknown, Regulus quickly turned against the Dark Lord and somehow managed to learn about his Horcruxes.

He took Kreacher – the family house-elf – to the cave where Slytherin’s locket was kept and gave his own life so that Kreacher could bring the locket back to Grimmauld Place and destroy it. Though the locket wasn’t actually destroyed until the events of The Deathly Hallows, Regulus’s noble sacrifice remains one of the most heroic acts committed by anyone in the wizarding world.

Yet not even Sirius knew how brave his younger brother had been. If it wasn’t for Kreacher, the truth about this unsung hero would never have been discovered.
