Harry Potter: 10 Magical Potions With CRAZY Effects

8. Invisibility Potion

Effect: The drinker will turn invisible for a brief period of time.

Seen In: LEGO Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Right from the very first Harry Potter story, it was established that the power of invisibility existed within the wizarding world, thanks to the title character receiving a snazzy cloak that imbued him with said power.

But cloaks aren't the only way for witches and wizards to turn invisible, because the aptly-named Invisibility Potion can also be used.

While not seen in any of the books or films, the potion exists within the LEGO Harry Potter Games, as well as Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, and fellow mobile app Fantastic Beasts: Cases From The Wizarding World. And it does exactly what it says on the tin - the drinker is granted full invisibility for a short spell (pun intended), allowing them to sneak into areas that would normally be off-limits.

Invisibility isn't something we see much of in the Harry Potter stories, which is odd considering that there are quite a few ways for people to pull the feat off: cloaks and potions aside, it can also be accomplished with a powerful Disillusionment Charm.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
