Harry Potter: 10 Magical Potions With CRAZY Effects

2. Pompion Potion

Harry Potter Professor Slughorn Felix Felicis
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment

Effect: Transforms the user's head into a pumpkin.

Seen In: LEGO Harry Potter.

Transfiguration is one of the primary subjects taught to Hogwarts students, and once mastered, it allows witches and wizards to transform objects into other objects.

In the Chamber of Secrets movie, we see Professor McGonagall turn a bird into a water goblet using the Vera Verto spell, for example, but wand-magic isn't the only way for wizards to utilise the unusual power of Transfiguration.

In the LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 video game, players are tasked with whipping up a batch of the Pompion Potion for Professor Snape, and if successful, a swig of the orange-coloured goop will turn Harry's noggin into an actual pumpkin.

All we can say is, we're glad that such a disturbing sight wasn't filmed and placed into one of the movies, because while this is all cutesy and fun in LEGO form, it would probably result in some spooky nightmares if depicted in a more realistic setting.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
