If selfishness had a face in the Harry Potter universe, it would be Percy Weasley. While others like Draco and Pansy Parkinson were simply brought up to be self-centered, Percy came from the opposite background.

The rest of his family had dedicated their lives to standing up for what was right. Percy, when the situation turned dire during Voldemort’s return and the Ministry’s subsequent persecution of Harry and those around him, simply turned his back on all his loved ones.

And yes, he eventually saw reason and joined up with the Hogwarts defenders just in time, but his previous actions are still very hard to ignore.
