Harry Potter: 10 Most Powerful Gryffindor Students Ranked
8. Neville Longbottom
When Neville Longbottom first arrived at Hogwarts he was a nervous wreck. He had no self-confidence, he kept losing his toad, and was a consistent target of bullying from the likes of Draco Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle. However, the Gryffindor certainly didn't stay that way.
At the end of his first year, Neville's bravery in standing up to his friends is exactly the reason he was put in Gryffindor. This was specifically praised by Albus Dumbledore, and the extra ten points he earned was enough to win his house the Cup for the first time in years.
While many of the witches and wizards on this list are incredibly powerful and are more adept at spells and charms than Neville, it is Herbology where the son of Frank and Alice found his magical calling. He helped Harry come out of the Triwizard Tournament alive with the help of Gillyweed, but even this wasn't his greatest achievement.
Neville emerged as a leader of sorts at Hogwarts while under the rule of Professor Snape, and he ultimately received the Sword of Gryffindor to kill Nagini, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes. He went on quite a journey throughout his time at Hogwarts, and became one of the finest wizards Gryffindor could boast.
