Harry Potter: 10 Most Powerful Gryffindor Students Ranked
7. Lily Potter
Despite coming from a muggle family, much like a certain other witch that will be talked about later on this list, Lily Potter excelled during her time at Hogwarts. She may have been treated as an outcast by her family, but in the magical world, she was someone truly special.
As a talented witch, Lily was sought after specially by Horace Slughorn for his Slug Club, and her skill, passion, bravery, and general attitude towards the Wizarding World made her an integral part of the Order of the Phoenix's original iteration.
Few people personified the qualities and traits expected of a Gryffindor quite like Lily Potter. Even when faced with certain death, with her husband having just been killed by Lord Voldemort, she still threw herself between her young son and the Dark Lord, sacrificing herself for her son without hesitation.
Her act of unparalleled love and pure goodness not only saved her son's life, it stripped the former Tom Riddle of all his power and forced him into hiding for years. This was arguably the greatest magical feat in the entire series.
