Hermione Granger was a walking slap in the face to any witch or wizard that believed muggle borns had no place in Hogwarts. While the humble dentists' daughter attended the school, there wasn't a student that could claim to be even close to her level.

In the time between receiving her admission letter and boarding the Hogwarts Express, Hermione read all of the required books from cover to cover, and could even perform basic spells without even meeting any of her teachers. Clearly, it didn't matter who her parents were, she was an extremely talented witch.

With an incredible academic career that included being given a time turner to take even more lessons, Hermione's post-Hogwarts achievements were just as impressive, as she eventually rose to the rank of Minister for Magic. She is only kept off the tope of this list by one of the greatest wizards of all time.
