4. Slughorn's Confession - Nicholas Hooper

ASlughorn An almost eerie little ballad this track accompanies the movie-original story of Lily Potter€™s gift to Slughorn many years ago. It is a simple tune but in many ways more affecting and penetrating than the resounding chorus of Hedwig€™s theme or another similarly grand track. This one is tragic and reflective yet in it there is hope for as the certain choice major chords shine through like beams of sun in a cloudy sky, bringing to Harry a little bit of the hope that Slughorn€™s story and admission also do. But in the end the reason this track is so strong is because of how well it stands on its own and the feelings it raises in the listener hope, regret, remorse and a little bit of apprehension that the future may hold in it an unfortunate repeat of the past...
