Harry Potter: 10 Of The Best Movie Tracks
3. Journey to the Cave - Nicholas Hooper
Critics (all right, the Nostalgia Critic) may sometimes pooh-pooh the use of the choir in many of todays modern movie soundtracks, but it is certainly welcomed in this one. Hooper subtly adds to the beautiful body of noise that rouses the listener to great excitement for the tragic climax of 'The Half Blood Prince'. Like in many of Nicholas Hoopers Potter tracks he cleverly mixes in with the stirring melody a sense of dread, ever keeping in the viewers mind that the worst is yet to come for Harry and his friends.
This track is played over a conversation between Harry and Dumbledore just hours before the latters (SPOILER!) death and the music, whilst building up to a crescendo of excitement for the climax of the film, still pays tribute to the fact that Dumbledores dis-apparition to an island surrounded by crashing waves will be the last time he ever leaves the grounds of Hogwarts.
