7. Everyone Loves A New Team To Support
It is fact that someone has their favorite, would follow them to the grave, team - for football, mine would be Celtic F.C - then as the circle expands, depending on where someone lives/moves to, they find other teams outside of their original love. When I lived in London, I dated quite a few Arsenal fans, visited Highbury, and drank in their social club, so I would consider Arsenal to be my Premier League team. On a global scale, I support Barcelona against all other teams, except for Celtic. Now, I live in Los Angeles, I'm not a massive basketball fan, but when there's a game on, I'll be urging on the Lakers. Also, we also have teams that, for one reason or another, that we hate, and want anybody to win but them - for me, that would be, the old, now deceased, Rangers, Chelsea, Porto, Juventus... I think, humans have a natural 'us or them' mentality, which we channel into sports; we're all looking to root for or against a team, for reasons based on family, location, or fan/player behavior, to the color of their strips. In Harry Potter terms, I am pro-Griffindor and anti-Slytherin. Quidditch would give people another sport to choose sides in. During my research, I found out that UCLA, where, I attended some classes, has a Muggle Quidditch team, therefore, I would go for them before anyone else.
