3. When She Was The Best Student In The Class – The Whole Series
It’s a testament to Rowling’s writing ability that she was able to make Hermione such a likeable character despite the fact she was almost always the best at everything.
From the moment she arrived at Hogwarts, Hermione was at the top of every class. Granted, she was a little too euthanasic at first, but after The Philosopher’s Stone, her knack for academic brilliance became admirable rather than irritating.
Her OWL results continued this trend. She received an Outstanding grade in nine subjects, and the only subject she didn’t achieve this grade in was Defence Against the Dark Arts. But this was a small blemish on a set of remarkable results.
Whilst there were many spectacular moments in which Hermione demonstrated her intellect, it’s worth acknowledging her brilliance in the classroom as well.
