Harry Potter: 10 Smartest Hermione Granger Moments

There were many obstacles guarding the Philosopher’s Stone during Harry’s first year at Hogwarts, and all three of our central heroes played a vital part in getting past them.

Hermione’s first key role was stopping her two best friends being strangled by the Devil’s Snare. Despite an embarrassing lapse in concentration in which she temporarily forgot she was a witch, she soon fended off this aggressive plant by firing blue flames at it.

However, her best moment – which the movie sadly missed out – was how she tackled Snape’s challenge. Armed with nothing more than a riddle and her own mind, Hermione managed to successfully figure out which of the many bottles in front of her would lead herself and Harry to safety.

As such, Hermione more than deserved her fifty points from Dumbledore for her ‘use of cool logic in the face of fire’.
